Ngarakeeton Ceremony

Gunditjmara Aboriginal Cooperative would like to invite you to the Ngarakeeton Ceremony.

This ceremony welcomes babies to country. The event celebrates the birth of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island children born in Gunditjmara / Peek Whurrung / Kirrae Whurrung nations, including children of traditional custodians born off country. The youngsters are welcomed to country and bounded within the region by members of the Aboriginal community and local Elders.

The ceremony starts 11am - 12pm Bush tucker will be provided

Celebration will include traditional cultural practices;

  • Smoking Ceremony

  • Painting with ochre

  • Singing


Reconnect with land and embrace the newest members of community. Strong Identity, Strong Spirit
