Elders Keerna is a two-day gathering in Warrnambool, bringing community together to share knowledge, strengthen culture, and focus on the prevention of family and community violence.

Funded by Dhelk Dja Barwon South West - Regional Action Group this event creates a space to draw on our collective wisdom - strengthening cultural connection, promoting safety, and fostering respect across our communities.

We are honoured to welcome Aunty Jill Gallagher as our keynote speaker.

Across the two days, you can take part in:

  •  Cultural workshops and yarning circles

  •  Weaving with Aunty Sandra Aitken (women’s business)

  •  Possum skin burning with Uncle Rob (men’s business)

  •  Kangaroo teeth necklace knowledge sharing with Joey Chatfield

  •  Treaty conversations with Uncle Mookeye and Joey

  •  Entertainment from Uncle Andy Alberts and Janty

  •  Deadly giveaways and much more

This gathering is about connection, culture, and community-led solutions - guided by Elders and grounded in respect.
