We are so proud to celebrate Dr Sharni Wilkes on being awarded both her Fellowship of the RACGP (FRACGP) and Rural Generalist Fellowship (FARGP) at the recent RACGP Fellowship Ceremony held in Melbourne on Wurundjeri Country.

Dr Wilkes is a Yamatji woman, with her Illawadjardi family group holding strong connections to the Malgana lands and waters of Shark Bay, Western Australia, on Yamatji Country.

Now working on Gunditjmara Country in Warrnambool, Dr Wilkes provides care at Gunditjmara Aboriginal Cooperative and is also a supervisor for our GP registrars at the health clinic. She has shown incredible strength, resilience, and dedication throughout her training journey, making a real difference in the lives of our community.

Her recognition is not only a personal milestone, but also a significant achievement in strengthening the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical workforce, ensuring culturally safe care for generations to come.

Please join us in congratulating Dr Wilkes on this outstanding achievement and the inspiration she brings to her patients, colleagues, and future generations of GPs.
